Egg Yolk Agar Base is a high-performance anaerobic culture medium designed for the isolation and cultivation of Clostridium botulinum and Clostridium perfringens according to GB standards. As a widely used Egg Yolk Agar and Clostridium perfringens medium, it plays an important role in food microbiology testing, clinical microbiology, and laboratory quality control.

Formulated with peptone, beef extract, glucose, sodium chloride and agar, Egg Yolk Agar Base provides balanced nutrition for anaerobic bacteria growth. After supplementation with 50% Egg Yolk Emulsion, the medium supports lecithinase activity detection, allowing Clostridium species to hydrolyze lecithin and form an opaque milky zone around colonies for rapid differentiation and identification. This feature makes Egg Yolk Agar an ideal lecithinase test medium and a reliable Clostridium botulinum culture medium.
